But most people just call me tones™. I’m a Persian-American creative director, writer, and director from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As owner of Gray Duck Creative, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most interesting brands. Whether it’s a CPG giant (General Mills, Danone, Cargill), iconic sports company (Red Bull, ESPN, Under Armour), or hometown favorite (Surly Brewing, MN Lottery, The Current) I’m always looking for new ways to flex some creative muscle and make both novel and effective work.

In the past, I’ve also written for publications like The Onion AV Club, The Star Tribune, Racket, and The Growler Magazine—and I moonlighted as the City Pages movie critic until August 2020.

When I’m not writing or directing, you can find me hanging out with my 5-year-old. He has yet to beat me in Mario Kart.
